About IMRivers Jr.

Welcome to IMRivers Junior!!! Here the answers to a few questions you may have regarding this program:

What is IMRivers

IMRivers is an online, interactive, community-based mapping application powered by Vertices LLC. Currently, many  water conservation organizations use this application to display the concerns, beauty, and improvements of their waterways. Many organizations, including the River Network, have found IMRivers to be instrumental to vocalizing their cause of protecting our water sources and educating the general public.

Thus, IMRivers has decided to further broaden its educational impact by creating IMRivers junior (IMRiverJR)! IMRiversJR will have the same tried-and-true mapping application as its ‘parent’ program IMRivers. However, IMRiverJR will be available FREE OF CHARGE to any organization working with students, K-12, to educate them about the importance of ecological concervation. Government organizations, non-profit    organizations, and classrooms will be able to access and manage their own IMRiversJR account utilizing this Mappler application as a novel, innovative teaching tool. While IMRivesJR is currently in it’s planning phases, expect it to hit the web in about a week and be ready for use by student organizations across the nation!

What are the requirements to become a part of the IMRivers Junior Network?

To become a member if the IMRivers Junior Network, and receive your free mapping website, you must meet the following criteria:

- Be part of a school or other educational organization (Eg. science class, after school program, boy scouts, etc.)

- Have a responsible adult to act as administrator for your website (usually a teacher or instructor)

- Have a project proposal, with timeline, in regards to how you will use IMRivers Junior to help better your community.

I have my IMRivers Junior Website! Now What?

Once you have been given your website, you are free to begin your project. While Vertices is available for some assistance, you, your fellow students, and your administrator are responsible for formating the webpage, collecting data, and entering data in whatever way you think is best. For some examples of how IMRivers has been used in the past, visit the Featured Maps section of this website.

Do I get anything for completing my project?

Besides the satisfaction of helping your community, you and/or your class will receive a certificate, acknowledging your hard work and contribution to your community. If you feel you and your fellow classmates have done an exceptional job with your website, you may e-mail the IMRivers Junior Team and your website may be displayed in the Featured Maps section of the IMRivers Junior website and be included in the IMRivers monthly newsletter!
